START CUP 2018 – florence, october 30, Sant’anna school professor announces winners of tuscany awards for innovation

A panel of judges selected the 2018 Tuscany Start Cup winners for Life Science; ICT; Cleantech & Energy and Industrial Tech category. Finalists will participate in the event to be held at Florence Sant’Apollonia auditorium – via San Gallo 25, on October 30, at 10.00 am.

The Start Cup Toscana business plan competition for the most disruptive technology entrepreneurship initiative is organized by the University of Firenze in partnership with Sant’Anna School, University of Pisa, University of Siena, Scuola Normale Superiore, IMT School for Advanced Studies - Lucca and IUSS Higher Education Institution - Pavia, with the support of Tuscany Region authority. Winners of Tuscany Start Cup will take part in the National Award for Innovation competition on November 29-30, in Verona.

The competition was open to researchers and entrepreneurs who started their business in 2018. Andrea Arnone, vice rector for technology transfer at University of Firenze and Monica Barni, vice president of Tuscany Region, will welcome the selected finalists Balance (University of Firenze/ Ict), Barriera Antiterrorismo Mobile (University of Firenze /Industry), BeWize (University of Pisa/Life Science), ErmesLab (University of Firenze/Life Science), Hubi-Mosquito (Sant’Anna School/ Industry), NetralMec (University of Pisa/Environmental sustainability and industry production), Relief (Sant’Anna School/ Life Science), VINE40CAST (University of Pisa/ Ict), Wanderoo (University of Firenze/ Ict), and Well FARE (University of Pisa/ Ict).

At 11.30 am, Luigi Dei, rector of the University of Firenze, will participate in the workshop “Imprenditorialità giovanile e sviluppo soft-skills”. Participants include Lorenzo Zanni (University of Siena), Marco Raugi (University of Pisa, vice rector for technology transfer), Paolo Ferragina (University of Pisa), Chiara Cappelli (Scuola Normale Superiore), Federico Davini (A11-Venture) and Nicola Vitiello (Sant’Anna School spin off company IUVO).

Sant’Anna School Professor Andrea Piccaluga in his responsibility for technology transfer office will announce the Tuscany Start Cup winners 2018.
